The MH+ London branch was working early today, from 5am. Given that we all went to bed at 8.30pm last night it wasn’t surprising we awoke nice and early. The Human Resources Manager (aka Kirsty) was not such an early riser !

We were classic tourists today. Taking in all the sights down around the Tower of London and covering off on Tower Bridge, The Shard (not open today), Borough Markets; Leadenhall Markets; Diagon Alley; Regent and Oxford Streets (and shops) before giving up in the heat.

It is crazy hot here, too hot, and they do not seem to know what air conditioning is. After our walk down Regent Street, we were hanging out for some cool air. Based on Kate’s theory that hotels will have both a bar and air conditioning, we found a Sofitel on the corner of Pall Mall and Waterloo Place and spent a lovely cool hour and a half hanging out at the St. James Bar. Bloody expensive, but worth every degree of cold air.

Kate then ventured off to meet up with a cousin, Tash. Not really sure how “removed” she is as a cousin, but definitley related. Kirsty and I shopped our way back up Regent Street, caught the tube back to Holland Park and bought some steak and salad for dinner.
Tired feet, apparently we did over 20,000 steps today. A quite night in, and hopefully to bed a bit later today. Overall, the jet lag is pretty good. Fresh air and walking certainly help.
